CONSULTATION FOR CLINICIANS

A thinking partner for the work that doesn’t fit neatly into a protocol.

Clinical consultation for therapists working with EMDR, complex trauma, neurodivergence, and clients whose experiences resist tidy explanations.

Therapy doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Neither does learning to be a therapist.

Some cases ask more of us than the frameworks we were originally given.

A client understands their trauma intellectually but cannot seem to feel it. Processing stalls without an obvious reason. Their nervous system is communicating something that the treatment plan has not accounted for. Their experiences are complex, unconventional, or difficult to discuss within a traditional supervision space.

Clinical consultation gives us room to slow the work down, look beneath what is happening in session, and think together about what the client’s adaptations may be protecting.

You can bring the uncertainty, the stuck points, and the questions that are still taking shape. We’ll widen the lens without losing sight of the person at the centre of the work.

EMDR CONSULT

I’m an EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist and an EMDRIA Consultant in Training. I can provide up to 15 of the 20 consultation hours required for EMDRIA certification.

Whether you’re completing your basic training practicum, working toward certification, or building greater fluency with EMDR, consultation gives us space to slow the work down and look more closely at what is happening.

Together, we can explore:

  • Case conceptualization

  • Target sequencing

  • Stuck or incomplete processing

  • Cognitive interweaves

  • Pacing and readiness

  • Working with complex presentations

  • Knowing when to follow the protocol and when the person in front of you is asking for something different

I bring an integrative lens informed by the Anchored Relational Model, Emotionally Focused Therapy, somatic work, and predictive processing. We’ll consider the whole person and their relational context, rather than treating the protocol as if it exists separately from either.

GENERAL CLINICAL CONSULT

You may be working with a client who can narrate their trauma beautifully but never seems to feel it. Their experience may be more complex than your training prepared you for. They may bring spiritual, anomalous, or non-ordinary experiences into the room that your usual consultation spaces have not known how to hold.

This is a place to think together about the clients whose inner worlds resist familiar explanations.

Areas of consultation may include:

  • Complex trauma and CPTSD

  • Case conceptualization through Predictive Processing Theory

  • Anxiety, ADHD, and intellectualized defenses

  • Non-ordinary states of consciousness

  • Anomalous and spiritual experiences

  • Highly creative, intuitive, and unconventional adults

  • Holding a non-pathologizing, decolonized frame in the room

Our work is rooted in curiosity. We’ll explore what the client’s patterns and adaptations may be protecting, how their experiences make sense in context, and how you can meet them without reducing their complexity.

MEET CHELSEY

I’m Chelsey Emery Snaza, a licensed clinical social worker, EMDRIA Certified EMDR Therapist, and EMDRIA Consultant in Training.

My experience spans substance use treatment, community mental health, and outpatient therapy across the lifespan. It shaped the way I understand people: in context, in relationship, and with respect for the intelligence behind how they adapted.

My clinical interests tend to live at the edges of convention, including complex trauma, neurodivergence, non-ordinary states of consciousness, anomalous experiences, and the inner worlds of highly creative and intuitive adults.

Consultation with me is collaborative and curious. You don’t need a perfectly organized case presentation or a clean answer. We can slow down, question the assumptions shaping the work, and help you trust what you’re noticing with greater confidence and flexibility.
